SCULPTURE PROCESS

In the spring of 2011 i taught a sculpture class and we worked in white stoneware clay with porcelain chamotte.

Yes, there were some divorce themed figures in there.

But also some happy, fat ladies, defying gravity and looking up at the sun.

I did both glazed and unglazed and I loved the unglazed ones in their matte simplicity. Main point: working with my hands makes me very happy and I noticed a lot of the students really love the process as well. I think we really need it these days when we do so much stuff online. Seriously, get out, go to the woods, take a swim and then work in clay and you will feel much happier.
